Michael Baines, Scottish expat and longtime Thailand resident, started feeding the stray dogs outside of his restaurant 5 years ago.
Feeding them a mixture of dry dog food, white rice, steamed fish, chicken, oil, and a homemade broth, Michael spends up to $1,000 USD a month, not to mention his time, helping nourish the street dogs of Thailand. He’s helped place up to 50 dogs in loving home, and has helped have over 100 neutered or spayed.
While much of the money is spent out of Michael’s own pockets, you can support The Man That Rescues Dogs, a non-profit organization in Chonburi, by liking and following his Facebook page and donating if you chose to. There is a documentary about Michael in the works.
