This winter, Nepal Alpine Guides and Karma Project are working together to provide formal rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain rescue, wilderness medicine, and outdoor leadership training to local Nepalese guides in the Everest and Makalu Regions, and they need your support.
For every international climber attending the Himalayan Alpine Climbing Course, 1.5 local Nepalese mountain guides will be trained and outfitted. The month-long course will culminate with a climb of 21,247 foot Mera Peak, and part of the project will also work towards providing educational scholarships for locals, building more sustainable sources of electricity in the village, and supporting the growth of independent small businesses.
