As much as I love traveling, I love packing just as much. Something about laying out all the gear I need for the trip just gets me so amped up! But not everyone loves this part of traveling.
Some people prefer the “Buy-It-There” mode of travel that I mentioned in this post. It basically means you bring only the absolute bare essentials and if you need something along the way, you’ll get it. That way you don’t have to overthink it all before you go.
But it turns out, there is a gray area right in between there. People who hate to pack but don’t feel comfortable leaving it up to the fate of finding what you need along the way. Pretty much, a personal assistant that packs for you sounds ideal right? If you fall into this group, then “unPack” might be right up your alley!
Just launched launched fall, unPack delivers a curated suitcase straight to your hotel or Airbnb. Right now their only sending these to New York or Boston, but I expect this to catch on and expand fairly quickly. It’s like Trunk Club for travelers.
Suitcases are smartly curated by season and destination. What’s included?
- Toiletries
- Appliance chargers
- A complete outerwear set
- Accessories (such as sunglasses and umbrellas)
unPack, as I mentioned, is currently US-based and costs $29.99. That covers up to five days of a rental and then afterwards, just like a Trunk Club-like service, any item can be purchased at full price. Whatever you’re sending back, just drop it at the hotel reception.
While yes, I do love packing, that’s mainly expedition packing. I’m a total gear-junkie! For a quick weekend business trip or a week working in the city, this definitely sounds like a service I’m going to try!
